Business Plan: Starting an Independent Record Label Introduction First of all I am setting down the employees of â€Å"Les Incompetentsâ„ ¢Ã¢â‚¬ . There are three of us: The Label manager (who is responsible for running the label), an AR (the talent scout who mentors the artist through to final recording) and a business developer (who is responsible for the business deals). Although every one of us has a specific title, being a small independent label, we all work on every issue. The funding of the label came from our personal funding (representing 85% of our funding). I, the head of the label brought 55% of the full funding, the two other equally brought 15% each of personal funding into the label. RECORDING The album will be recorded at Urchin Studios in London (www.urchinstudios.co.uk), new studios since 2007, price remains affordable without letting go of the quality side. They are operating with Strokes producer Gordon Raphael. As past clients they have had Emmy The Great, Skin, Jeremy Warmsley, Transgressive Records. We will operate on a daily fee of  £200 for a 9 hour day inclusive of all equipment and engineer; we have to look at â€Å"problems† such as overtime which will cost us  £30 per hour or such as additional cost hours after 9pm which are at engineer s discretion. It would be lovely to work in Pinna Studios (www.pinnaproductions.com) but much more expensive. Lately these studios have seen the likes of the Kills, Razorlight, MTV, Endemol but the costs are much higher so they will be hopefully used as future reference. Just to se the differences, their daily rate is 350 £ all services included but only for an eight hour day. How Physics Works and Why You We Study It

Physics is the scientific study of matter and energy and how they interact with each other.  This energy can take the form of motion, light, electricity, radiation, gravity — just about anything, honestly. Physics deals with matter on scales ranging from sub-atomic particles (i.e. the particles that make up the atom and the particles that make up those particles) to stars and even entire galaxies. How Physics Works As an experimental science, physics utilizes the scientific method to formulate and test hypotheses that are based on observation of the natural world. The goal of physics is to use the results of these experiments to formulate scientific laws, usually expressed in the language of mathematics, which can then be used to predict other phenomena. When you talk about theoretical physics, you are speaking of the area of physics that is focused on developing these laws and using them to extrapolate into new predictions. These predictions from theoretical physicists then create new questions that experimental physicists then develop experiments to test. In this way, the theoretical and experimental components of physics (and science in general) interact with each other and push each other forward to develop new areas of knowledge. The Role of Physics in Other Fields of Science In a broader sense, physics can be seen as the most fundamental of the natural sciences. Chemistry, for example, can be viewed as a complex application of physics, as it focuses on the interaction of energy and matter in chemical systems. We also know that biology is, at its heart, an application of chemical properties in living things, which means that it is also, ultimately, ruled by the physical laws. Of course, we dont think of these other fields as part of physics. When we investigate something scientifically, we look for patterns at the scale that is most appropriate. Though every living thing is acting in a way that is fundamentally driven by the particles of which it is composed, trying to explain an entire ecosystem in terms of the behavior of fundamental particles would be diving into an unhelpful level of detail. Even when looking at the behavior of a liquid, we look in general at the properties of the fluid as a whole through fluid dynamics, rather than paying particular attention to the behavior of the individual particles.   Major Concepts in Physics Because physics covers so much area, it is divided into several specific fields of study, such as electronics, quantum physics, astronomy, and biophysics. Why Is Physics (Or Any Science) Important? Physics includes the study of astronomy, and in many ways, astronomy was humanitys first organized field of science. Ancient peoples looked to the stars and recognized patterns there, then began using mathematical precision to make predictions about what would happen in the heavens based on those patterns. Whatever flaws there were in these specific predictions, the method of trying to understand the unknown was a worthy one. Trying to understand the unknown is still a central problem in human life. Despite all of our advancements in science and technology, being a human being means that you are able to understand some things and also that there are things you do not understand. Science teaches you a methodology for approaching the unknown and asking questions that get to the heart of what is unknown and how to make it known. Physics, in particular, focuses on some of the most fundamental of questions about our physical universe. Pretty much the only more fundamental questions that could be asked fall in the philosophical realm of metaphysics (named for being literally beyond physics), but the problem is that these questions are so fundamental that many of the questions in the metaphysical realm remain unresolved even after centuries or millennia of inquiry by most of historys greatest minds. Z. ’s Sleep-Away Camp for Disordered Dreamers, where the protagonist is surrounded by others who have sleeping issues however not as disturbing as his, more over his only similar dream patterned companion stops remembering their prophesized dreams leaving our narrator and protagonist ,Elijah, alone. Russell opens the story with Elijah and Emma attempting to sleep together to work through dreams as a pair before they are interrupted. Towards the end the story we as readers return to Elijah and Emma attempting this action again, with both struggling to get comfortable, sharing blankets, awkward lullaby until in anguish Russell describes not only the pair but also Elijah’s widespread loneliness, â€Å"it’s an empty warmth, an only bodies touching† (64). Russell slowly increases this sense of emptiness and isolation as the action reaches climax. Elijah is completely secluded after Ogli admits he forgets his dreams when he wakes, creating a separation that is the â€Å"greatest rift: campers who remember in the morning, and the ones who forget† (69) expanding on this ideal that our narrator is ultimately alone with no connection to his surrounding and the people in those surrounding, none of the â€Å"cabin others† can relate to him or themselves. St. Lucy’s Home for girls Raised by Wolves, trails Russell’s pattern of isolated coming of age story telling. However with this particular narration and protagonist we begin with first person point of view on the other hand the text reads pluralized. Initially referring to the narrator as we or our, constantly a group or â€Å"pack† mentality narrative. Then suddenly the narrative switches to â€Å"I†. Claudette becomes known as the protagonist and narrator shortly after this switch. After every sense, emotion, and interaction was a â€Å"pack† experience, for Russell to cut this tie and create a story that is of an individual is a subtle experience at first; from a united thought process that slowly turn individual to self-centered and selfish. This is apparent in Claudette’s frame of mind towards her little sister Mirabella, from â€Å"the pack worrying about Mirabella† (230) to Claudette singular thoughts and emotions toward her â€Å"littlest sister†. This switch epitomizes the coming to age alone tone that Russell creates, initially the pack protected each other, thought as one, and were connected in every way till they adapted to the new environment, becoming singular units growing up isolated from each other â€Å"snarl at one another for no reason† (229) becoming accustomed to thinking individually as an independent person. These stories although diverse in content and storyline Russell connects each to another almost subconsciously. They share similar struggle of coming of age stories, stories of isolation in the first person that reveal one trait or another within the battle. Despite the fact that is the same reasoning with each story it has a new outcome, therefor the stories are not repetitive while the elements used might be. Russell’s constant use of senses or imagery of hands and feet do not subtract from the story but heighten them. Russell creates these images that work because it is relatable subtly by creating images in the readers mind, thus making it more realistic even though the stories are of fantastical mindset.
